Abstract:
Objective of the study. To study the efficacy and safety of combination therapy with ethylmethylhydroxypyridine succinate (Mexidol FORTE 250) and venotonic drugs escin lysinate and diosmin hesperidin in patients with chronic cerebral venous insufficiency (CCVI). Material and methods. The study included 120 patients with CCVI with clinical and ultrasound signs of cerebral venous dyscirculation. Patients were divided into 3 subgroups depending on the type of therapy. The first group (n=40) was prescribed Mexidol FORTE 250 and diosmin hesperidin orally for 74 days in combination with 2 courses of intravenous escin lysinate (L-lysine escinate) on days 1 and 30 from the start of treatment; The 2nd group (n=40) was administered Mexidol FORTE 250 and diosmin hesperidin orally for 74 days; the 3rd group (n=40) was administered diosmin hesperidin orally for 74 days. Results and conclusion. The efficacy and safety of combination therapy of patients with chronic cerebrovascular insufficiency with venotonic drugs including the antioxidant drug Mexidol FORTE 250 at 750 mg/day for 74 days was demonstrated. The study demonstrated a reliable positive effect of Mexidol FORTE 250 on the dynamics of the presentation of complaints and indicators of the neurological and psychoemotional status of patients. Monotherapy with the venotonic drug diosmin hesperidin showed its insufficient effectiveness. Key words: chronic cerebral venous insufficiency, antioxidants, mexidol FORTE 250, venotonic drugs, escin lysinate, diosmin hesperidin.
