Abstract:
Mexidol at a base dose of 100 mg/day intramuscularly for 10 days is effective in the treatment of mild TBI, as evidenced by positive neurological changes. For patients with severe TBI, a 10-day treatment regimen of 200 mg/day intramuscularly followed by oral administration of 0.25 g twice daily for 4 weeks is more appropriate. Due to its good tolerability and the possibility of intramuscular administration, Mexidol is a popular drug for outpatient treatment and rehabilitation of patients of various age groups with TBI.
