Abstract:
Analyzing the morbidity and illness rates of children and adolescents in the Krasnodar Territory, we observe consistently high rates of mental disorders among the child population and a steady increase among adolescents. As of January 1, 2010, every 33rd child and every 20th adolescent are observed and treated by psychiatrists. In the nosological structure of mental disorders in children and adolescents of the Territory, non-psychotic mental disorders predominate (69.65%), mental retardation is in second place (29.0%), and psychoses account for 1.35%. In outpatient consultations with a child psychiatrist, the most common disorders are cognitive and psychosomatic disorders, as well as anxiety-phobic spectrum disorders against a residual organic background, which is consistent with the data summarized by L.O. Badalyan, N.N. The therapeutic strategies we use in children and adolescents combine psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy. The central pillars of treatment are psychotherapy and psychocorrection. Pharmacotherapy in childhood and adolescence is fraught with difficulties: it can be difficult to convince parents to consult a psychiatrist and begin long-term medication treatment.
