Abstract:
Ischemic stroke is a leading cause of death, disability, and severe maladjustment in patients, accounting for approximately 80% of all types of acute cerebrovascular accidents. Approximately two-thirds of patients experience residual effects of varying severity. Ischemic stroke is currently receiving significant attention, and international and domestic guidelines for stroke prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation are a key component of this work. This article provides an overview of the latest clinical guidelines for the early management of patients with acute ischemic stroke from the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association, as well as the specifics of stroke therapy and prevention in Russia, Europe, and the United States.
