Abstract:
This review examines in detail the pathogenesis of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and the characteristics of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Given the significant role of oxidative stress and hypoxia in the development of this infection, the use of antioxidants and antihypoxants in the complex treatment of COVID-19 is advisable, as this may prove beneficial and significantly improve the course of the disease.
